    110 with factory scope bases

I have a 110 with factory scope bases on it. Have any of you tried to remove these?

I assume they aren't screwed on, Some are soldered on, and some are investment cast with the action. The soldered ones can be removed, then just drill & tap, If they're cast it's best to leave them.

These look like they are soldered on. How long ago did Savage solder bases on their actions?
