    model 10 predator

i am seriously considering a model 10 predator. i found one at a local shop in 22-250. it's a package in brush camo 22" barrel,i believe in varmint contour with a bushy 4-12x40 on it for $748. i see it's in 1-12 twist. Is that a good twist for the lighter bullets? as this will be a coyote gun. any expierence with this set-up? seems like a decent price.

Can't speak for that specific model, but the 1-12 twist works well with lighter bullets. I have a 12FV with a 26" 1-12 twist barrel and it just loves 55gr Sierra SPT's over Varget. I did really well with 40gr V-Maxes over Varget as well. Haven't tried anything heavier than 55 or lighter than 40.

If it has a DBM it is the newer model, if it is a blind magazine it is the first models introduced. That price doesn't seem like a real bargain. I would buy it without a scope and then put on what you would like to. My Predator in 22-250 is the most accurate sporting Savage I own.

If you get the gun this might work for you:

This is the load I use in my Savage Predator Model 10. This
has work extremely well in several guns, one being a friends Rem 700 custom.

    55gr SBK over 37.1gr RL15, CCI BR2's, OAL to Ogive 2.095 which is a .005 jump, avg. 3725fps from the 22" barrel.

The last 3 shot group before my gun went into the safe was .156"

Not a bad price, but definitely no bargin.
As for the twist, that is standard. I've killed LOTS of yotes with my 22-250 shooting 45-55gr. bullets.
As far as the scope, if you like the camo theme and can stand the glass fine. Personally I don't like that glass, and think there are far better choices, without paying that much.
I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.

I'd like to keep the camo the same on the scope. the only other scope i see in that patter is the nikon coyote special.thanks for the input.

You can always get the scope camo dipped whatever camo pattern you like.

i bought one for my GF in 7mm-08 naked for $300. factory ammo shoots .7 moa at 300 yds. put all black accessories on it. looks better than all camo in my opinion.
