    Free float problem

I recently had some barrel work done and when i went to put the barreled action back into the stock i noticed it is no longer free floating? I have a Choate tactical stock. Every thing is fine untill i start to torque the front action screw, it pulls the front of the barrel down against the stock. Do i have the screws in the wrong spots, i have the longer screw in the trigger guard and the shorter one up front? Im not sure why this is doing this now. Any help is always appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Adam

    Re: Free float problem

If it is floating until you tighten your action screws, you need to bed the action. Once is bedded, you can remove some material from the barrel channel if need be.
