    Switch action in bedded stock?

Is it possible to put an action into a stock that has been glass bedded using another (identical) action, and have good accuracy...or does each specific action need to be individually bedded into a given stock?

It might work ok, but it'd be best to re-bed to a different action.

IMHO, if it's going on pillars, it shouldn't make any difference. The only difference would be the flutes in the bedding for the barrel nut. Cut the high spots off the bedding in that area (if it's bedded that far forward) and screw it down. You really won't know till you try and you've got nothing to loose

If your action is a little out of square when you bedded and the new action wasn't , you might put some stress on the new action and cause some accuracy problems. Try it and let us know.

I have bedded one action for bull barrels in a Duramax and another action in a Boyd for sporter weight barrels. Carefully use a Dremel tool to make sure everything floats.

You will have to use the same recoil lug that the stock was bedded for. My after market recoil lugs are mated to the action for life. ;D
