I free floated my tang today and lowered the trigger pull a little more. When I was doing the slam test the gun didnt fire but the saftey would engage. Is this a problem or is it ok

mine did the the same thing, if it wasw bumped real hard on the butt, it would engage the safety....i figure it's an added safety feature now...but maybe it isn't supposed to happen? rsbhunter

I did all the tests with slamming the bolt closed and slamming the butt on the ground. NEVER FIRED. WHEN I SLAMMED THE BUTT ON THE GROUND TRYING TO GET IT TO FIRE THE SAFTEY WOULD SLIDE BACK. SAFETY WORKS FINE.

If you slam the but hard enough, the safety WILL engage on a Savage. I wouldn't get concerned over it.
