    My savage 17HMR

I have had it for aleast 3 years. Its is stock and has a center point scope. I like this combo. I glued the adj sight at 10x justto get a feel for the mil dots. I can shoot a 12"x12" gong out to 400 yards 6 out of 10 times. I just adj like 26 MOA and it does the rest. I have never cleaned it and it has had about10 different pant jobs. I use it for everything I have killed turtles to 200 pound Wild Hogs and everything legal in between. I slapped another krylon job on it today so I decided to post it up. I have had some good guns but I can tell you I have been vey hard on this gun and it hasnt let me down yet. so anyway here it is.

We had 2 of those Savage model 93 .17-HMR caliber rifles but after 3 months of shooting squirrels, rabbits, coon, fox etc I got rid of both of them, even though they shot 1/4 inch groups for 5 shots at 50 yards. We tried several brands of ammo but NO Cigar! It was not enough rifle for our coons oposum or foxes.

Now don't get all upset folks!!! We went back to the old .22mag, also model 93 with bull barrels, using 40 and 50 grain bullets from Winchester and Federal. No problems at all and they both shoot under 3/4 inch groups at 75 yards. The wife and I are indeed happy campers to say the lest.

every coon I have ever run into was tuff!! I've seen a few take a .223 with a vmax and run off before they bit it.
