Anybody have the SS 110 Storm model in 280 Ackley?

If so what is your opinion of the rifle?

How do you like the round for Elk etc?

I am between buying a new rifle or buying an action and building a rifle.

I've owned two LW storm rifles (7mm-08 and another that started out as a .270 and I converted to an '06) and another stainless in '06. I haven't owned the storm in .280 AI but I have no doubt it would be a shooter. A lot of guys love that round for elk.

I am building a .284 Winchester on my long action LW Storm and so far it's giving me .280 AI performance which should be more than enough for any elk inside of 600 yards. So I guess the real question is do you have the chops and glass to take 600 yard shots? If so, then go for it.

I think it would be great for an elk rifle, so much so that i got a Kimber Classic select in one. I haven't bagged an elk with it yet, but i am sure it would be perfect.

I will be using my WW Action with Criterion 280AI and B&C Medalist on a NM bull hunt this year.
