Long time lurker...
Hi guys, registered back in 2017, skulked around for a bit and keep returning. Currently own 3 Savage rifles, an original Tactical bought when I lived in the UK and was serving in the British Army about 1996 or so. It's a .223 on a long action but it was the only bolt gun I could find in the UK for reasonable money that had a 1-9 twist so I could shoot the free ammo I got as a small arms instructor... :pirate: Also used it on foxes and roe deer in Scotland.
Came over to the US in 2005 and bought a .243 cuz it was cheap at Ron Peterson's gun shop in Albuquerque NM where I was living at the time. About 10 years ago I fell into a great trade for a 7mm Rem Mag and what an awesome shooter it is. Love the ability of the Savage rifles to swap barrels/calibers and have a .204 Ruger barrel for my .223. Great forum, thanks for having me. :cool:
