Doing a build with the Model 12FV platform and wanted to know any aftermarket stocks that members had the most success with other than the plastic mold stock from factory???
Searched Boyds and Choate so far and really like the Pro Varmint from Boyds....
Also, is the 12 chassis a Short action STAGGERED or CENTER feed blind mag, bull barrel.....There dropped down options.

First off, the 12FV is a centerfeed....that is the rounds are fed to a common center channel in the magazine and are always pulled out from the same point.
As for stocks... I have 2 12's and 3 Axis rifles. My favorite, as well as the most expensive, is a Bell and Carlson Varmint. I have a few Boyd's in both laminated and hardwood. They are a great budget option. And then I have some random laminated stock that I got on deep discount from Stocky's that is not a Boyd's, but pretty much looks like one. It required some minor inletting to clear the trigger action. Every one of them shoots MOA or better on factory ammo. I think the most important things you can do are to pillar them and bed the front lug.
One last thing with the Boyd's...the default pad is a thin piece of shoe rubber. While it would be fine for a .22-250, if you ever think you might get another 12FV with some more oomph, do yourself a favor and get one of soft 1" pads. It's pretty cheap to have them do it at the factory.

The 12 fv is a center feed, blind mag, short action.
Boyds may or may not be true drop in fit. Sometimes they require relief in the trigger area. Choateand Manners and many others are "better" than Boyds, but the quality comes with a price. Depending upon what your intended purpose is, the Boyds may be all you need. If you are interested in adding pillars and bedding the action yourself, the Boyds can be a very good stock for the money.
There is also McMillan and Stockade along with some full custom purpose built stocks on the lower end cost wise would be SSS's stocks.

It literally dropped in... It did require us to open the trigger guard slot a tiny bit for the original one to fit and has not had to be pillared or bedded yet.... If I wasn't a lefty, I would have got this one instead of the Boyds Pro Varmint.
You just have to choose the "Savage 10" as the model. They are the right one for the 12FV. The Comb is higher on the Bobby Hart than the Pro Varmint, and may eliminate the need for an adjustable cheek piece or a cheek riser.
If you choose this one, make sure to KEEP THE L-BRACKET AND THE MAG FROM YOUR ORIGINAL STOCK, they will be needed when putting the Bobby Hart on.
A picture of the 12FV in the Bobby Hart stock would be great if you could. I'm going back and forth between it and the thumbhole stock.

Now just keep in mind this guys is customized especially with the adjustments he had added on... and it's a Rem 700 action, not our Savages, but it looks the same with the exception that there's "no nut"...
