New Here...Old Shooter
Howdy from Central Texas. Long time hunter and shooter who's looking for insight on some of the several Savages I own. And maybe I'll be able to help out a few others along the way.
About me - I'm 57 and have been hunting and shooting since I was 6. I killed my first deer in 1968 and have killed well over a hundred since then, including a couple of mule deer. Today I'm strictly into hunting mature deer and I'm lucky enough to have access to several pieces of private property to do so. I also really enjoy dove, quail and pheasant hunting. Recently I've gotten the long range bug and I've been working on several different guns and loads to get it done out to 800 yards. I've got access to a place with a good line of sight and a good backdrop where I can shoot out to 1440 yards, I just don't have the weapon or load (yet) to do it. Looking forward to making some new online friends here.
