I've inherited a Model 29 (not A or B) from a dear friend. The rifle is in decent shape, but jams when more than 1 cartridge is inserted into the magazine. It appears that some sort of cartridge stop is missing. A single cartridge will feed OK from the magazine to the chamber.
Does anyone have or know where I can get an exploded view schematic to see what parts are missing?
An A or B model is a lot different, but I can find schematics for them. HELP! (please) ;D
Huzzah! I fixed it. The cartridge stop was indeed missing. Turns out all it is is a ball bearing that fits in a hole in the receiver under the operating rod. I found the proper size ball bearing and replaced it and viola! It feeds. Another pre-war slide action .22 goes back into service.
Good thing, because I busted a nugget and a half and couldn't find a plain model 29 schematic for you.

Can anyone tell me when this rifle was made? The serial # is 109361. TIA
The model 29 was made from 1929 through 1933, or some time in 1933. The 29 was redesigned in 1933 and was sold until 1967 as the 29A and later 29B. I have several 29b rifles and am a fan of them and other pump 22s. I have a very good breach block fo the early 29 for sale. Stan

Can you take a picture of the parts in there? I have a 29a (Sears Ranger) and I found the 1/4 bearing identified in previous postings by itself doesn't seem to fit where it should. I'm assuming its a 1/8" bearing instead, but fear that if it rides in that trench in the bottom of the receiver, that the lifter will not be able to move. Right now the 1/4" falls behind the lifter below the hammer :-\.
