Hello...I found this site after purchasing my first Savage centerfire...a Model 12 heavy barrel. There is a wealth of information residing in the digital record of this site and I am glad I joined. I mentioned that I purchased a Savage Model 12 recently and have I got a story to tell. I picked up the rifle, purchased a scope, base and rings and thought I was good to go. Oops...got ahead of myself there. The front scope base holes were drilled off center or warped in the heat treating process...my scope did not have enough internal windage adjustment to center it up. I called Savage and they sent a UPS label for me to return the rifle for evaluation. That was three weeks ago. Savage called this afternoon and told me they are sending me a new replacement rifle...my hat is off to Savage on their warranty program. Really looking forward to a range session next week when the new rifle arrives.
