Hey everyone! Yesterday my grandfather who is 97 just gave me his Savage 99 and it shoots the .300 round. Its in darn near mint condition and Im really trying to find the exact year it was made. There are no letters stamped on it anywhere the the serial number 346xxx on it. Can somebody help me with a bit of info on this rifle? Thanks in advance!

Thanks! I checked that site as well and got the same date as well, but I am questioning that. The rifle belonged to his grandfather who died well before 1935. And he remembers that rifle being around in the 20's. His memory is spot on. So thats were I get confused.
I'd say 1935 is about right. I have one in my records in the 299xxx range that dates to 1927 and another that's 362xxx which dates to 1937. I'd respectfully venture to say your grandfather's recollection is what's off.
