suggestions for trigger assembly? 110 LA

Its been years since I started this project and last fall discovered that the trigger assembly in my 300 win mag build is not functioning properly as far as the safety goes. You have to take both thumbs to put it in the fire position and I have had the local gunsmith make several attempts to adjust it properly. If I end up having to get a new trigger assembly for the rifle what do you all suggest for this 300 used for hunting. It does have a McGowan barrel and bell and carson stock and it looks like I am at wits end on trying to get this rifle project safely operating. Wish there were a savage specialist in my area but this older gentleman has been in business for many years and I had confidence in his ability but am beginning to question

Make sure and try to operate the safety outside of the stock, because it could be part of the stock that is interfering with it.

But like was said above, go and adjust your trigger, and you will probably fix it.
