Non-adjustable firing pin- convert to adjustable or leave it alone?

I don't know if it matters if it's L/R., but don't let the "Gunsmith Only" policy stop you.

Offer to sign a liability release form and they will sell you one.

I switched so that it can be timed at some point beyond just me screwing with it... they are no different left or right but there are a few parts you must get, firing pin assy. Cocking sleeve, and it has a new pin in the back, I forget the name of it.

Midway has it all in stock, dealing with savage is a pita when you are ordering parts that do not match your serial number.

Make sure you get the correct firing pin diameter as well, there are large and small diameters, google it and you will find out more... Im on my phone so I can't help with the link right now.

Other than the love of tinkering (of which I am also guilty) Why?

FWIW: I believe that I have some rifles with adjustable firing pins AND the cocking indicator, but I am unwilling to tear apart my rifles right now to confirm that.

Timing a savage can only be done on adjustable firing pin.
