Nicely done..... Now that you've finished practicing on that one, are you ready to start on mine? I mean, after all,.... I have been waiting quite a while ;)
Very nice! What ever your skill or profession is, at least you know you can always have a career in Axis / Edge stock making.
I see you've taken your addiction to the next level. Well done!

Re: 22-250 Axis with new stock.
By the way, What's that round yuk-a-puk on the barrel? Is that one of those vibration damper thingies I read a little about?
Last stoopid question. Does it work or do whatever it's supposed to do?

Re: 22-250 Axis with new stock.
I won the rifle in a raffle and a door prize too. The door prize was the yuk-a-puk (love the name) and slip-on recoil pad. Does it work? It hide the 1 inch barrel channel it work for that. ;D

Hey, very nice work. I like the way you installed the mag, I've seen this somewhere ;D
Re: 22-250 Axis with new stock.
Hey RSG - I was at the range today & noticed the guy next to me was shooting a Rem .243 with one of those yuk-a-puks on the barrel.
I struck up a discussion about it, asking what it did. He responded with what he thought it was supposed to do & said it didn't do anything.
10 minutes go by & he's standing behind me saying "look at my target!", with an air of excitement to his voice. I swing my spotter over & notice his 1st target looked a little like a tight buckshot pattern - His second target - Nice grouping!
He's shooting 100gr Rem Core-Lokt store bought stuff & getting a nice tight .75" group.... TWICE!. If I hadn't seen this with my own 2 baby blues, I would have called BS in a loud clear voice.
He said he had moved that gizmo about an inch at a time toward the muzzle. With it only about 2.5" away from the stock, this thing actually made a difference.
Now, I'm not gonna run out & buy one tonight but, I would encourage you to have a go at it & let us know. It kinda sorta sparked my interest..... quite a bit.
He even went over to one of the 200yd lines and came back with a target that had a tight, real tight 1" pattern of 4 shots, dead nutz center of his target.
I would really like to see if there's any consistancy to those yuk-a-puks or whatever the heck they are called.
Let me / us know. It is kinda amusing, to say the very least, that the accuracy of a rifle can be modified in a positive manner by adding & adjusting a rubber gadget on the barrel.
Thanks for listening.

Re: 22-250 Axis with new stock.
Bobfortiers pics helped me with my stock build, I added some that I hope will help someone else.
I was worried about the action to bottom of mag latch .765 dimension, I made the washer and pillar as one. This is the drawing I made for it.

I added a alum plate to the rear of the mag bend part. Hooking to the wood seamed weak.

Re: 22-250 Axis with new stock.
I milled the trigger guard out of a .75 x 1.50 block of alum.

Hope this will help you if you make a stock too.
