220F question
Hi
First post here. I'm going to hunt Ohio this year & thinking of buying a 220F. If I buy it I'm going to get a Nikon SlugHunter 3-9X40 200BDC. What bases & rings would u recommend & ammo. I see the remingtons seem to be shooting good.
Thanks Bill

Re: 220F question
A quality one piece rail (long action w/accutrigger) and high Burris sig zee rings
best in mine so far are the Remington 2 3/4" accutips
While shooting at the range, go slow. Barrel heat can damage sabots and groups will suffer

Re: 220F question
I put a Warne Tactical one piece rail on mine. They can be kinda pricey but well worth it in my opinion.
here is the Warne at midway:

Another option for less $$$ EGW:

And yes, you'll want high rings with either of them. You have to keep the scope high enough off the firearm so the spent shells don't hit the scope.

Re: 220F question
This months Riflman has an excellent article on sabot slugs and it looks like the Remington is what I consider the best. I put a fixed power scope on mine, your realy dont need a 9 power for the ranges you will be shooting. 4x works vor me, Weaver K-4 I had laying around. fixed power ar also more rugged.
