Re: Chrome Molly Recoil lugs
You could use a recoil lug intended for a remington and cold blue it since most come in the white. The only problem is that most will not come with a pin to register in the groove of a Savage.
Or, you could always use a magic marker. It won't be very durable, but will be easy to touch up.
I think Brownells makes a cold applied product that blackens stainless. If I come across it I'll let you know.

Thanks. I appreciate that. I did check Brownells but didn't find anything that would do the job.

Re: Chrome Molly Recoil lugs
SSS has ones that are powder coated black, they match blue almost perfect.
Re: Chrome Molly Recoil lugs
I had Fred at SSS put one on a custom build that was otherwise a blued action and barrel. Whatever he did to the lug made it look identical to the blued stuff.

I tried the Caswell Blackner, but I was never happy with the results. I believe you could get a closer match with spray paint.
