Just finished up trimming and packaging the meat from the buck I recently took. The meat is beautiful and hopefully aged to perfection.
It's a wonderful feeling to be blessed with such a bounty.
It'll take me a couple days to recover from this, and then I'll start on the doe from Sunday. We'll be eating well this winter.

I just put a dry rub on a roast, stuck it in the fridge and will begin slow-roasting it tomorrow. Can't wait...

Sometimes simple is best. Today I grilled a few small cutlets, added avocado slices and wrapped it all into deep-fried corn tortillas. I rarely cook much for myself when no one else is home but made an exception today. Am glad I did...was delicious.

Wow, that does look delicious! Great idea, too. Probably not necessary, but I think some siraccha sauce might be good on there.

I’d take a picture of my venison stew but it’s all gone. I was going to stop at one deer this year but this thread is thinking I’d better take a nice doe if given a chance.
