Depending on how early it was made it may not have one. Older guns were not required to have serial #s and many dont.
Though some manufacturers numbered their guns, Serial #s weren't a requirement until the gun control act of 1968.

See if you can find a date code on it, that will point you in the right direction on if it came with a serial number or not. It's a small oval stamp with a number and a letter inside of it.
