Savage 24S-D info and history
Hello,
I just bought a Savage O/U which has a peculiar combination of features which I just can't make heads or tails of regarding it's age, origin etc.
Here's the particulars.
Model 24S-D
.22mag/20ga
Barrel is unified with no gap.
Receiver has a side lever to break open action and grooved for a scope.
Receiver is black, not case hardened (unless it was painted black)
Stock was painted olive drab-stripping the finish off, it appears to be birch (not walnut)
Serial is just 2 letters and 1 number under the barrel under the fore arm
Can anyone help me out on this? Thanks in advance!

I have a rifle similar to yours its a 22lr/410 over under. It was made back in 70s. It is made by savage and they are not making the rifles anymore. Don't know much more about them lol
Re: Savage 24S-D info and history
i know that some of the savage 24's had black coatings on the recievers. My 24v-a has a black coating on it that kinda looks like paint, but seems to be tougher and smoother. Hope thats a lil help anyway.
