Question about the Vortex PST

Hey guys I have the Vortex Viper PST 6-24X50 SFP. I was wondering if yall knew what magnification the scope should be set on for ranging? I tried looking on the web and I couldn't find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

This picture on the Vortex website seems pretty clear

It says maximum magnification - right ? Then the reticle scales from there
So at 12x the tics are 2moa at 6x they are 4moa at 18x they are 1.5moa
