Twist rate question LRPV

Hello, hope to be a savage owner soon. Looking at a 12 LRPV .223 the seller does not know the twist rate and has no box. The barrel stamps are b6 A2 Sp14. I also have the serial number I could maybe give to Savage to find out ?
It is either a 1-7 or 1-9, if it is the 1-7 I might jump on it 1-9 just wait their will be more.


Is the extra $300 on the LRPV worth that much more over the BVSS, are they more accurate? I want 1/3-1/2 MOA with good reloading techniques. I like the idea of the heavy gun, target action and target trigger.
But I found a BVSS 1-9" for $650 and the LRPV is $900+ with shipping and transfer.
Any help is appreciated.

Yea back to my point twist rate, does the stamps tell you?

My money is on the 9 twist, due to the fact if someone has a 7 twist they got it specifically, and they know very well what they have.

PS: I would go with the BVSS, 250 bucks buys A half decent scope, lots of ammo, or even a match barrel.

No the stamps won't tell you...at least usually.
Measuring twist rate is not hard. Have him take a cleaning rod with a patch or an appropriate sized brush and push it down the barrel and see how many inches he has to push the rod to make it twist once.

9 twist works for me in both 223 and 22x250 ai in which i use 69 gr bullets.
im guessin the barrel quality would be the same on both models.
mine are prairie dog guns. so long as i hit most i shoot at im happy.
the ones i miss are on me. if i wanted to shoot tiny groups at matches id probably
be talking to somebody like fred directly.

I have an LRPV 223 rem with a 7" twist. The barrel has the twist rate marked on it. So I would assume that if it doesn't have "7" twist" marked on the barrel, then it is a 9" twist.
