Made by Ramshot Powders. It is an absolutely excellent powder for .223 Rem and .308 Win. There are bunches of other rounds it can be used in. Four years ago when everyone went stupid and just started hording everything they could find, Ramshot was about the only one available because it was still relatively new. I picked some up and have never looked back. I use Ramshot TAC and Hunter in just about everything I have. Hunter is in the 4350 burn zone but they are ball powders so they meter like salt.
As far as working for me? I think I already posted the groups it gave me in my Rock River.
TAC reportedly is the powder used to make Mk262 ammo.
I've heard it is quite temp sensitive, though...?
guess I will have to see if I can find some and try it out in the 223 when I get it finished..

Groupe SNPE. A French State-owned conglomorate. Makes all Bofors (most of the Reloder line, and the Norma line), Vihtavuori, and Ramshot powders via their Eurenco layer.
Ramshot actually lists VMD, and BD information.... SO Impressed about the volume info..... But I'm a "made in USA" snob, so I stick with General Dynamics powders.
41.0gn under a 168gn Nosler custom comp is my accuracy load for the .308.
25gn under a bulk 55gn FMJ is my economy load for .223.

Tac is real close to H335 on burn rate and volume. It burns clean and works quite well in the 223 for me at just under book max. Pickt up 4 kegs of it a while back for $77/keg so that and AA2200 are my go-to powders for the 223.
Mk262 IIRC is loaded by Black Hills not one of the major ammo plants. That would mean that they could use pretty much whatever they need to get the load to work the way they want. Considering the relatively small volume of it produced, it probably wouldn't be economically feasible to rework load data for every batch. That would make an off the shelf powder the logical and economical choice.
That was and is the rumor I hear from people coming into the shop (BH is less than 3 miles from where I work). BH Ammo uses it in their match loads but not in all their .223 loads though. I will text my buddy and see if he can spill the info, he works there.
Either way, it produces groups for me that I would have never believed possible in an AR.

My first exposure to Tac was when a local sporting goods store was going out of business. The powder was marked down 50%. By the time I got there all the traditional and well known powders were snatched up. The Ramshot powders were still there though. I bought all the Tac, Big Game, and X-Terminator they had. I soon found out how good they were and when the ammo shortage of 2008-2009 occurred, I was able to find 8# jugs of Tac when everything else was gone. It shoots so well that I see no reason to change.

A Tin dioxide compound, and a secret splash of bismuth something is what the French originally developed in the 1800's; discussed in Hatcher's Notebook. What has been in Win 760/748 for at least the past 20 years, and what makes CFE223 so "magic" currently.
Tac's MSDS is nowhere near as straightforward as GD's, But I don't even see the Tin there.
