if you can set the barrel back far enough you can, and if the chamber was cut correctly in the first place
What are you considering a "match" chamber? Seems like everyone has their own idea of what that entails.
Was thinking of doing my Savage FT/R barrel with a Palma Type Chamber, there are several too chose from??

Yes, there a few ".308 Win" chambers to choose from. Not being a seasoned gunsmith, I can't tell you what the details of them are.
