0.040 to 0.045" is about perfect.
Firing pin should be round...nearly identical to the ball of a ball point pen (NOT a fine point).
You might try a search for Bolt head adjustments.Bill from PA did have a pictorial for that and other procedures
Bill deleted his pictures when he left.
Sorry to hear Bill is gone. He was a real asset to this site. He helped me and many others through difficult issues w/ sound, practical advise. He didn't seem to have a mean bone in his body. I wish him all the best.
I have done several searches and am coming up with no luck....
looks like it is totally gone. One of your guys needs to make a new one? I'm not home to do it right now.
I use the tail of my caliper (depth mic would be better) and measure to the bottom of my bolt head and then to the pin as it protrudes. little math I get my answer. Cheap wire stripper to grab the pin through the spring slide the spring back to release the nut lock and adj till I get it where I want.
Thanks ill give that a try!!
Why someone would do that escapes me. ??? ??? ???Quote:

Sure wish I had read this yesterday, launched my rear lock washer and spent 2 hours looking for it because I turned the rear nut a little to far trying to take some pressure off of the spring. found the washer and got it done, but sure wasted a lot of time.
Thought about trying a pair of the pliers they sell for compressing park brake cable springs on the next one.
