Stevens Model 311E SXS 12 ga. - Date of manufacturer??

A friend of mine has a Stevens Model 311E SXS 12 ga. serial # A2975XX in as new condition . Beautiful case hardening Hue . Anybody know the year of manufacture ?
The checkering appears to be machine pressed .
Any help is appreciated.

late 60's to 70's If the stocks are walnut then I would say 60's.Call savage or google it as there is a site for the history on these guns made by savage.

Gearchecker, it was made in September of 1969.
