Savage 110 in 6.5-300WBY Magazine problems

Dave where you at my friend? Need to brainstorm :p.


I have a savage 110 action (LONG, originally a .300 wm) I want to make into a 6.5-300 WBY. The receiver seems plenty long enough with the bottom opening and ejection port providing ample room. The issue is the COL is 3.600 and the magazine is shy about .200 thousandths. Do you think I could get this (link below) and make it work?

This box comes as a kit including he follower and spring. COAL allowed is approx. 3.830″.

This is an issue I have not run into before, that is one LONG cartridge. Thanks for any inputs guys!
