I've always loved my Sightron SIII scopes, but the reticle lines in the S-Tac series are way too thin for hunting. I bought one for one of my 22's, and returned it after taking it out of the box. Looking at the tree line on my fence, I couldn't even see the reticle.
thanks -saved me from trying that reticle -their duplex is heavy enough to hunt with , I have a couple of them- the moa reticle is on sale now - looks like it'd be good for paper
I have a 4-20x50 with the MOA reticle. It's doable, but not ideal for hunting. I also have the 3-16x42 model with the duplex, and it is much better for hunting applications.
I just put two on rifles one for Egg Shoots 3-16(16x limit) and one for colony varmints 4-20. I might take the 3-16 out in open country for coyotes during full daylight but it would be one of my last choices for any cover or even mildly low light.
Old thread
Ok. My response had nothing to with the last post. That’s why I didn’t quote him. I was simply stating so anyone else looking at it realized it was older so the same info isn’t rehashed. As has happened several time in the past. Many people don’t bother reading the whole thread. Rather, they read the title & first post. Maybe the last. That’s all I responded for. But it’s ok.
