Criterion or Shilen barrel?
I have both brands and they are very good shooters.
I would say it comes down to availability and personal preference.
You can't go wrong with either one IMO.

agreed.
Since 2017 I've been buying, for my 12 BR, Criterions (from James at Northland) because he and Criterion have had the caliber, twist rate, length, contour, etc., that I've wanted.. I recently ordered a Shilen from NSS because they had the caliber (.25WSSM) and other characteristics I wanted.. I believe the two brands are equally excellent.. James also has the barrelnuts and recoillugs I want, and, initially, the tools--action wrench and barrelnut wrench-plate--I needed.. Even with my very-weight-and-stress-limited right shoulder, I can now change barrels in about a half-hour. Don't forget a No-Go headspace gage.
