Two piece bases without visible screws?
Alright fellas, This has probably been covered however I'm overlooking something. This is the first rifle (110) I have owned with a 2 piece scope base. I am looking to replace them with a solid picatinny but they do not have visible screws. How do these two piece bases attach/detach?
Thanks
Re: Two piece bases without visible screws?
If this is an older 110 it can have cast in bases. If it does there is no screws and what you see is what you get.
Re: Two piece bases without visible screws?
Thanks for the info... Looks like I'm stuck with permanent mounts. Now I have to go back to my original plan and buy a donor action. Cant complain as this older 110 was free!
Thanks again
Re: Two piece bases without visible screws?
they were either a cast receiver with the bases as part of the casting, would have to be machined off
or they were soldered on and could be removed with heat and drilled & tapped for new bases. they were made both ways in the 70s
Re: Two piece bases without visible screws?
Well I went ahead and purchased a stainless 112 action with accutrigger from Mr. Briggs. I'll adjust the 4 screw trigger and drop a scope on the 110/7mag that I was going to use as a donor action.
