Don't understand why you need a new bolt.
How many rounds have you fired through it? It could be a number of things, like crud in the chamber, bad chamber job, etc. Did the extractor fail? Maybe you just need a new extractor.
What did the case look like when you got it out of the rifle? Marks on it? Where and what did they look like?
Was it a factory round or handload? If handloaded then how many times has that case been reloaded? Did you clean the lube off the case?
You making fun of us rednecks? We don't have gud schools tru dat but Sherman and the carpetbaggers is to blame.
Lot of people have pissed on his grave over the years.
That is true.
But fact is that what he did was what Lee had been trying to do from the time he took command.
Put such a hurt on the union army that the population of the north would insist that it be ended.
Had little Mac and the Democrats won the election for Lincolns second term, it would have ended right then by surrender.
It was Sherman who prevented that from happening. He won the election for Lincoln, and nailed the lid shut on the south.
Sorry... OP, I have a used bolt head from a model 10 243win. It’s in good shape. You are welcome to it, gratis..if you do need one. Just PM me.
But maybe you should take the advice of Charlie. Maybe post some pics for us to gander.
I think he's been scared off. :o
Don't think so. He has not been back since his post.
Maybe the ejector got compressed and stuck in it's hole and somehow he thought he needed a new bolt?
Unless you damaged something trying to get the bolt unstuck, you shouldn't need a new bolt assembly. Depending on how hot the load was and how much the case bulged you might need a replacement extractor or ejector kit. I once somehow managed to turn a .204 Ruger case into a belted magnum which pushed the extractor out enough to prevent the bolt from being able to rotate. Had to disassembled the bolt in the gun and pull the barrel to get the spent case out and only had to get a new detent ball for the extractor.
