.223 110 Varmint vs. Predator
Looking to add a bolt action rifle in .223 . I prefer a higher comb and am comfortable with the Boyd Pro Varmint on my rimfire rifles and the AccuFit on my Desert Tactical. Both appear to be the same stock but the Predator includes the expensive Mossy Oak paint job. Not sure which barrel, the 26" Heavy Varmint or 22" Medium Heavy Fluted Predator would be of any significant value shooting Prarrie Dogs and paper. The Predator List price is $150 higher. How much of that is for the paint and then the fluted barrel? Both have bottom bolt release , not sure if that really makes any difference/ steve

I have the older predator with blind mag on pillars.
I have had fun with it. 1-9 barrel measures close to 8.75
Bedded front of action and recoil lug.
Cut and crowned barrel. Only took an inch due to neglect by first owner.
Bedded a 20moa rail to it.
Shoots sub min with up to 77gn smk. And I’m at sea level.
Little groups up to 300yds is as far as I’ve punched paper. Hit 8” plates to 400yds.
I want to see if I can get the 77gn ers to 600yds but not sure what happens past 400yds.
One can be had pretty cheap. Just inspect the barrel as mine has some pitting in it but still shoots well. Very well. Broken in I guess you could say. I want to put a barrel on it but no more than I shoot I can’t justify 400$ for a new 1-7 pipe.
I just like banging plates and critters at the hunting club.
I bow hunt.
I solved the comb issue with a strap on cheek bag with electrical tape. On bags I will compete with anyone out to 300yds
Hunting club crap talking [emoji3].
Swfa 12x sitting in high sig rings
Had to get my comb up quite a bit.
