I don't believe so. The Featherweight stock is wider at the butt and shorter because of the cheekpiece of the Boyds vs. straight comb of the XP. Plus it's no small job to grind a pad flush without a vertical belt sander before you stain and finish the wood. Matching the wood afterwards without hitting it is double tough.
I must say I REALLY like the Pachmayr 1" pad I had them put on my Featherweigth Thumbhole. Looks great, feels great. And it's less pointy so it doesn't catch hunting jackets/vests.

That makes sense. Just wanted to make sure before ordering. I'm just trying to determine how difficult of a job it'll be to do myself. From the youtube videos, pillar bedding looks a lot easier than glass. I've got to call savage and see about getting the bottom metal and all for it. Also trying to decide if I want to get the checkered laser engraving stuff they offer. Seems like it might help with grip, but not sure it'll look great.Quote:

If you're going to be carrying it in the woods or up a mountain, then you really do need to add the laser engraving stuff, as the Boyd's stocks are EXTREMELY slippery when they get wet. If its just going to be a bench gun, then probably don't need the engraving done.Quote:

One note. With the thumbhole you have to shift your grip of the trigger hand to release the safety. At least I can't reach it with my hand in the firing position. This proved to not be as much of a problem as I feared once I started practicing. Just thought I'd mention it. And if you do hunt with gloves that means your sliding your gloved finger into the triggerguard with the safety "off". So don't go too light on the Accu-Trigger setting. May not be an issue in Arizona or Alabama but in Nebraska or New York it is during deer season.

this x2. I will never own a thumbhole due to this. I like the new At-one stocks. Pretty cool since I could build a rifle which my wife and I can both use and only need to adjust the stock and maybe adjust the sight just a touch.Quote:

It's not a deal breaker, just a feature worth mentioning. You can also use the oppose hand to slide the safety off (it's light enough you can easily support the rifle with the pistol/thumbhole grip. The stock itself is a delight to carry and shoot and well matched to the Trophy Hunter action and light barrel.
I don't regret it, but I will say there was an "Oh Poop" moment when I first got set to shoot that first shot from a table after swapping the action. I've used many pistol grip stocks before but the safeties were not at the tang.
It's a natural flow from flip the scope caps, slide the safety and let out half a breath.
