sporadic " fail to fires" belted magnum

Hi everybody, New member here.
I have a Savage 110BA in 300 win mag...
I bought a bag ( 50 count ) of new Winchester brass.

Resized them, loaded them up and shot them all. All wen t bang.
*** Reloaded those same rounds and I'm getting sporadic " fail to fires", the primer is hit, but no ignition?


I bought a box of off the shelf 180grain 300 win mag and all went bag.
I've sent it to Savage and they did the same thing, ran 20 rounds of new commercial ammo and they had no issues.
I've had this rifle since 2012 and in the last year+, this has become more and more of an occurrence.
I'm just neck sizing currently. The loads I make are middle of the road loads, not high pressure "hot loads".


Is there something I'm missing as to why this happening? I'm at a loss.

Have you ever adjusted your accutrigger? One of the reports I've heard over time, is that if the trigger is turned down to its lowest pull weight, you can have that happen. I had that same problem on my 111, but it turned out to be I didn't have enough clearance between my aftermarket pillar bedded stock and the trigger. The Rub was creating just enough resistance to not let the firing pin hit the primer hard enough even though I could see the firing pin mark on the primer.

Does the loaded round that "misfires" eventually ignite if you try it again?
Are you bumping the shoulder back at all when you're neck sizing?
How old are your Primers and is there a chance that they got damp or dirty?

Magnums are shouldered on the belt. If they were not, most new ammunition would have excessive head space and most would not fire. This is contrary to non belted cases. To test measure the shoulder on new brass and on fired brass. I have seen .010" pluss excessive H.S.. inspect the belt.

Unless you damage the shoulder when reloading the head space should be fine. Bumping the shoulder back too far on a belted magnum does not alter the head space like on a non belted case. Your brass will last longer if resize brass close to the chamber length.

If the Accutrigger was tripping there would not be indention's in the primer.

Primers are not magnum primers. Primers are bad. Your firing pin spring is weak or "gunked up". You ruined your shoulder during resizing(doubtful). Your trigger over travel is set too short and the trigger is dragging on the sear.

Yes I did adjust the trigger when this first happened. It did not have any effect on the problem. I feel it's somewhere in the "reloading" area of this issue.
***Does the loaded round that "misfires" eventually ignite if you try it again? I'm going to try putting the discarded empty rounds ( bullet and powder removed ) with the dented primer in the action and see if it will go off?
I'm not touching the shoulders at the current setting for " neck sizing"
Primers are in a spare bedroom, environmentally controlled room.

Replace the primers with some CCI large rifle magnum.
