Don't really want to cast aspersions, but I really doubt that to be the case. If I were you, I would call Savage parts department and ask them to send him one. They aren't all that scarce. I will get you one if need be. No charge.Quote:

My smith would have made one up before this. I am afraid your smith is just a parts swapper and not a real smith.
I just got off the phone with Savage parts dept. THey are sending me one free of charge. PM me your address I will get one out to you tonight or tomorrow.
