I just received my Hogue stock for my Savage short action and the rear pillar looks funky. Its not flat like the the front pillar. Here are a few pics. I think something is wrong, let me know.

Looks like the milling machine left the notch cut short. Hogue should take care of that.

Cut a washer and place it over the pillar where the L bracket would sit. If you're still unhappy with the stock you can return it.

I'm not at all unhappy with the stock. Cutting a washer to fit over the pillar sounds like a good idea. I'll just measure the height of the tabs and make an aluminum washer the same height, thanks for the idea.Quote:
