53 gr .224 varmageddon
First-time poster to the reloading forum. I recently set up a 12 FV in 22-250. http://www.savageshooters.com/showth...dding-Model-12
I thought I'd share my initial results loading the 53gr Nosler varmageddon bullet (flat based, poly tip, .303 BC). Over 35.2 gr Varget looks promising; all shots on my "portable" bench. I'll post more results to confirm reliability.
Nosler cases (1.894")
WLR primer
53 gr varmageddon
Varget powder (34.7gr @ 3650fps and 35.2gr @ 3700fps)
2.450 COL (about .020 off lands)

i've been wanting to try these as well. it's amazing the bc's there getting these days especially with a flat base bullet. that should give you some extra range and energy on target.
please update us with the terminal performance once a critter falls in between the crosshairs :laser:
nice looking rig by the way and brilliant simple shooting bench!

I will, there's plenty of woodchucks in these bean fields for "testing."
The sawhorse bench is suprisingly nice to nice to shoot off, and rock solid.

Curious about these as well. I've done some load work on the 53g vmax in a R700 223 12twist and I'm getting close on this receipe.
