105 grain 243 options anyone tested?

Hi shooters, ive been looking at geco 105gr 243 ammo and the hornady amax 105 gr, but before I buy any has anyone else tried it yet.
The reason I am so interested in the amax hornady is its downrange energy as at the 500 yard mark it starts to out power the .308 due to its ballistic coefficient, the stats for it seem to make it a very good long range target bullet but will the budget axis platform stabilise it?
The geco is budget priced ammo over here and the hornady will be pricey so has anyone had the chance to get there firing pin on either brand and test it?

The savage website says the Axix 243 models use 1:9.25 twist.
The berger website recommends faster twist (1:9") starting at 90 gr.

You might get lucky, but the odds of getting a heavier bullet to stabilize are going to be on the low end. Especially without handloading. That is also why there is not a selection of heavy bullet factory loads. If there were, somebody would buy, try, and complain that they don't group / keyhole out of their factory rifle.

My cousin has a factory Rem700 in 243. If memory serves, it had a 1:9.125" twist. We got excellent results from handloadind Berger high bc 88gr flat base varmint bullets. Not quite as good a bc as vld, but good. And the flat base bullets stabilize at lower twist than a vld will. The load we settled in on chronoed 3244fps. I believe that was a 26" barrel.

On the othe end of the spectrum, some custom setups cannot shoot factory ammo.
I just bought a custom 22-250rem fast twist barrel. 1:7". It should be optimal for 70-90gr bullets. I am shooting 80gr Amax right now. If I ever tried a factory load out of this barrel, I would expect the bullet to come apart in the air from too much RPM.

I've had good success with a 243w Savage 9.25" twist 22" barrel and the 105amax. Sweet spot was around 43gr of H-4831 seated long at 2.79", Winchester brass and 210m primers. If seating them shorter or using Lapua or Federal brass I would assume 42.5gr would be ideal.

Stabilized just fine at almost sea level and sub zero temps.

I have got the Amax to stabilize fine in a factory savage barrel using just about the same load as listed above. I am shooting at 3000 ft and above and in warmer temps though.

This is good news as the 105 amax is a very strong long range [really long] bullet, all I have to do is find some within driving distance in the UK!

I finally found some geco 105gr .243 rounds at a local gunstore, I had to order 50 rounds for them to deliver will let you know how it goes and how they shoot team.

I normally shoot federal 100gr but the Geco seem just as good with a little more oomph, when tested the first cold bore shot went straight through the bull at 101m, cant ask any more than that.
Groups were one inch no bother will let you know the first varmint or deer that catches one.

After digging a little deeper it appears Geco, RWS, Rotweil and Dynamit are all under the Dynamit Nobel Umbrella which has now been acquired by RUAG!

Shot the 105 Hornady HPBT today with the 243 Axis heavy barrel I purchased from the classifieds on this site. I haven't done any load development yet I was just checking to see if they would stabilize.
