Anyone shooting the Barnes 62 grain TSX in there 9 twist .223? If so, what loads have you had success with?
I have loaded the 45,53,62 and 70.
I had a 1:7 and a 1:9 twist.
The heaviest bullet I could get to tighten up in the 1:9 twist was the 53 grain bullet.
The 62 just shot sloppy in my rifle. Probably about 1.5" or so.
Others mileage might vary.
I think I chronographed them too, but I lost that notebook.
I shot them over H4895.
I think my max load was 24.5 gr for the 62. That is what I have in the saved quickload file.
Barnes lists a max load of 25.5 gr of varget.
Both the 62 and 70 did fine in the 1:7 twist.
I use 25.6 gr. of Varget for both 62 TSX's and for my 60 gr. Vmax coyote loads. Super accurate with the Vmaxs and sub MOA with the TSX's.
1in9 model 25 savage 23.5 w748 very accurate, very deadly on east tn deer. my daughters & nephew have killed 6 deer & 1 hog with this load. all but one dropped in their tracks and it didn't make it out of sight
i tried 62 in a 223 1/10" and it shot about an inch, tried 55gr game kings and they shot a .205", I went with the game kings
