New/old model 11 with questions

Picked up a model 11 yesterday at gun show (couldn't pass up deal). Well, it is the filthiest barrel that I've ever seen. finally after many hundreds of brush and swab strokes, it's clean. Looks like bolt and outside are all fine but, never saw a bore brush or patch.

I looked the serial number up on Savage.com but, it only gave me a parts breakdown and said that it is a Mod 11F. Did not give me a year of manufacture. It is a top loader with no magazine on bottom.

I bought it to get familiar with Savage, it is 243, and it was very inexpensive. Barrel is 20". If anyone can tell me any more, I'd appreciate it.

I will be looking for a Savage long range 243 and will may end up trading this one. But, will first want to see how it shoots as I have a friend with youngster that may need a deer rifle.
