Savage 10FCM
I love the Scout rifle , have had one or the other since 1990. I have a very bad right shoulder and am going to need a muzzlebreak question; can any of you guys tell me the od of the barrel. I will have the mb installed and the front sight moved reward. Thanks Doug

Re: Savage 10FCM
why not change the barrel to a .243 for less kick ?

Re: Savage 10FCM
That is always a option, But I have a ton of 308,dies, bullets etc: and I love the cartridge./ Doug

Re: Savage 10FCM
I believe it is .625 at the muzzle but I would have to measure mine first.

Re: Savage 10FCM
Don't forget you can always download, too. On my scout gun I put a cushy butt pad on it and downloaded some light Amax bullets 26gr 4895 for my little one to shoot without getting whacked so hard. It's softer than my FCP-K with brake, yet still carries plenty of energy at deer hunting ranges.

Re: Savage 10FCM
I am using a 150 grain load at 300Savage levels.I do want to be able to use heavy 308's when I need to. Thanks for the suggestion. Doug

Re: Savage 10FCM
Learn to shoot LH, since that is your good shoulder. If I as a LH person can shoot a RH bolt gun, then so can you. ;)

johndoe3, I have tried that and I am not the man you are. ::)Shooting left handed I do not shoot groups ,but rather patterns ::) Doug
