I love it when the kids show me up!
Finally!...somebody else uses a BSA Tactical 6x24x44.
I like that scope show much Ive purchased 3 of them.
When I first bolted mine up to my rig I got flamed from all my fellow shooting buds who sport Leos/Nikons/Swav and alike. They quickly had a change of opinion once I started kicking there butt with it.
From 100 out to 1200...the scope has never let me down....holds zero perfectly
Rig looks nice...just cant go wrong with the FGMM 168

I can see my fellow shooters point on a scope such as the one we have. Theres alot of cheaper grade scopes out there that are truelly "cheap" for the lack of better words.
The turrets are huge with solid locking detents. The turrets can easily be reset to zero. Glass works well. Bottom line?...for the money?....It more than does the job.
Fellow shooting friend (retired marine) shoots a Savage with a Springfield Armory atop of it. Ill never forget the day I showed up to the range with my Savage and BSA. He took one look at the scope and Id swear it was as if I had committed a cardinal sin. In a panic voice he started bashing away. I simply looked at him and said. "The most expensive gear doesnt always equate to a better shooter"
Case in point: We were set up to shoot steels at 900-974-1000-1100 yds. The 900-970 steels were 6"x8", the rest 12x12.
I had just started shooting my new 10FCP-K out to distance because I had just finished my load testing and developed a load for it and was ready to send out to distance.
I started at about 500 and adjusted accordingly to wind. Once I had that, I knew the wind was cooperating at that moment so I quickly adjusted out to 900 added 2MOA for windage. I sent the 1st round out to 900 and hit, I waisted no time and started adjusting to 970 and so on. I hit everyone with 1 shot each. (wish I had more days like that) but I havent. The shooting Gods were on my side that day.
For me it was sense of accomplishment, my shooting partner spotter shook my hand with a pat on the back, my other shooting friend (retired marine) simply picked up his rig, put it away, loaded it up and away he went. He has never showed up again to shoot with us
Since then, not one of my other shooting buddies have had any negative blurps at me about my BSA scope.
For the money?.....that Model K along with that $129.00 scope will more than do the job. 175 smks with 4064 going 2700 has been what my model K likes.

Roger that.
One of the first BSA,s I have is about 3 yrs old. Ive run that one thru the pace,s. At that time, i didnt have a 20 moa base so I was running the turret all the way up to shoot out to distance. I did that for about 1 yr. The scope always held the adjustment and most importantly, came back to zero everytime.
Im with you on your percentage.
Once you develop a consistant/accurate load, then its off to distance with the ability of truely "trying" to understand direction/speed of wind.
Latley Ive been working on reading marage. The military range that I sometimes shoot at has a 1K range that is basically flat. The heat waves sweep accross the terrain like you wouldnt believe.

Ft. Bliss. El Paso Texas.
Ill use that range every so often but really prefer this one.
Theres permanet steel targets Ive buried in concrete so the assholes wont steel them. Further more, there hard to spot. I have them placed from 200yds out to 1200 in 100 yd incremints.
The one thing I found out quickly is that if your load either thru factory or reload doesnt give you consitant 1/2 MOA @ 100 then your better off not going out to distance if your aiming to hit small objectives.
I know you,ll be pleasently suprised as to how well that model K does out to distance. Ive tried 168,s and have never had a problem with the pill loosing stability when it goes transonic least not at my altitude.
Even simple 150smks, do well out of my HS 11.25 twist 5R model at this range.

DzNutz, very informative OP! Great shooting!
lololo....If ever you find yourself in these parts I,ll be more than happy to take you out and you can shoot to your hearts content.
I went out to Ft Bliss today to send some rds out. I should of just stayed home. I had 15-20mph head winds with a good right to left blast every so often...real pain in the a**.
if I head out towards the valley pictured I have more of a constant wind direction which makes for a more pleasent day of shooting.

Looking great

Very good... It appears the FGMM ammo is a tad better than the Remington stuff in you rifle. I have been working a load up with the 175 SMK but I only shoot out to 550 yards. I am thinking I should get some 168's for what I do..

Savage 10FCPK .308
just a tip....when you start a group DONT adjust just keep your cross on the same place and finish your group..you don't care if its in the bulls eye or not only how it groups...ive seen a lot of guys that will shoot then adjust or shoot then put the cross on the point of impact of shot #1 and then say this riffle is a POS and wont shoot.
Savage 10FCPK .308
that is perfect because I am not a bench rest guy and shoot off a bipod and a welding glove...I think ANYONE can lock a riffle down or put them in bags and shoot a perfect group but real skill comes in when your shooting from different positions...prone,standing,kneeling...I was VERY impressed at our last match when I was shooting with a guy in our group that called a head shot on a 550yd target from a standing position with a 14.6lbs 243AI and had a nose shot..chambered another round and had a chin shot before I could call the first shot during sight in.
Sometimes shooting the center is bad.. When you shoot out the red dot it gets harder to zero in on a very precise point...

I've had good luck with 168 and 175 SMK, but the best for my particular 10FCP-K is the 175 SMK from Southwest Ammunition. I'm going back to the range in the video below and try to do this again. Here is a video from earlier this year.

I have several sub 4" groups at 500 meters (547 yards) with this rifle. It is all up to me and my eyesight to do it right. Gun and ammo are excellent. Shooter needs work.

I took the brake off because of the dirt blast shooting prone at the range in the video. If you take yours off, expect a shift in zero but no difference in group size. And no blow back of grass, rocks, and dirt when shooting prone. I love the XLR chassis and the Bushnell 5-21 scope. Overall, a very good setup for me. But I had excellent results out to 300 yards with a 2-8x Nikon scope off of an AR and the factory Accustock. I just couldn't get the pull and the cheek weld right with the Accustock, thus the XLR.
I am primarily a pistol shooter, usually local club bullseye matches. Here is a video of a 200 yard session with a CZ P-09 that kind of put the rifle shooting in perspective for me. At 200 yards with a pistol or a rifle, the group size is dependent upon placing the sight in exactly the same spot for each shot, and then not moving the gun while pulling the trigger. In other words, the 200 yard group size is pretty much limited by how well I can see the dot relative to the aim point. I've shot the pistol at 200 yards three times, and this is the best session, although I haven't had any groups larger than 12" or so.

I am looking forward to shooting the long gun at 500 meters next week, especially after shooting the pistol at 100 and 200 over the last couple of weeks.

That looks like a good session to me! The 520 yard results are excellent. I see you are using one of the same cheekpads that I had to use with the Accustock and even medium rings. I got it to work OK, but also had to take it on and off for cleaning the bore. Looks to me like we each have a very good 10 FCP-K. I couldn't be happier with mine, especially for the price.

Well, I didn't make it out to 547 yards this week due to snow and ice on the range road and poor visibility. I made it up to the 300 yard berm however. Here is the best 4 shot group of the 5 I shot. None were over 3". I'm happy since I haven't shot this gun since the video in the post above in May. Now I just need to get my (grown) kids out to try it. My daughter in law has shot the AR and the .308 very well, better than either boy. She takes instruction well compared to the other two, LOL.
