I just started looking at the Savage Axis as a candidate for a build,and was wondering what kind of price's you folks who might have bought one recently have been paying for the basic Axis with the black stock?
Wally world has them for $288 which seems decent from what I've seen online so far, but I just started looking at them and not sure.
Appreciate any input you might have.

Wally World was selling them for $227 on Black Friday here.
$257 @ walmart down here. They had them for 20% off black friday making them $205 i wished i would have picked up a few.
just bought mine on Black Friday a .308 Axis and it came with a Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 scope and it was $368 out the door
I got a 7mm08 last week...but it was the one with stanless barrel. $335 out the door...
I picked up two 7mm-08 youth models for $477 out the door, and one full size 7mm-08 stainless, in a camo stock, for $299 out the door.
They were all on clearance at the Cabela's up by me.
