It's a .30-06 with a cheap Simmons scope.

Well, for starters the first letter of the serial # is a "G" and not a "6". The rounded rear bridge and Acutrigger make that plainly clear. Scope looks like the standard 3-9x40 Simmons piece Savage used on their package rifles for years, so most likely it's a Model 110 or 111 GXP.

Easy mistake when working from a pic. All Savage serial numbers since 1968 have started with a letter.
Does this look like it's worth $300?
Clearly the answer would be yes - you can't even hardly find an old non-AccuTrigger action for $300 anymore, much less a complete AccuTrigger rifle for that price. Grab it while ya can!
