hey guys/gals just wondering what the twist is on these guns i do plan on reloading in the future but really would like to find the twist out the guy at the store told me 1-12 but i am not sure
o and what factory ammo is decent that you guys have found to work great
so far out of the box and sighted in at 25 yards i am grouping the size of quarter
so far i am loving the gun nice trigger pull and i cant wait to take my yotes and ground hogs in pa
Hornady Custom or Winchester Supreme. It should do at least quarter size groups at 100yds. All 22-250s do.
Seen your from P.A.,get that gun ready we have a Fun Shoot in Mainville P.A. 17815 every year and would love to have ya if you can make it.
The 40gr Winchester White Box and 55gr Winchester Ballistic Silvertips shoot very well in factory tubes.
still cant find the twist rate just might have to call savage on monday

It would be a 1-12" if it were anything else it would be a 1-9" but it would be marked on the barrel "22-250 1-9" Twist"
To my knowledge they never made a 1-9" in a blued barrel.
Anyway I'd say it's a 1-12"

next mod some bi-pods need on the gun
It should shoot anything his 1 in 14" shoots, maybe even better. Hornady 50gr. Vmax are awesome accurate and brutal on groundhogs.
Are your buddies loads factory?
If they are handloads, you need to back off and build up first.
