I had a medalist and didn't like the way the stock fit me so I sold it and bought a duramaxx. I like the way the duramaxx fits me. I did have to do a bit of fitting when the stock arrived but nothing major. It is not as stiff as the medalist but it is much better than the factory stock. Unfortunately I have no experience with the carbelite stock so I can't offer an opinion there.
i just did a search on here and found a bunch of information.
looks like the durramaxx is the way to go and has a good price.
You can't beat duramaxx for the price.
For much less than twice the price you can have a real hand layed fiberglass stock with the barrel channel you want by going with the Stockade Money Saver.
And I don't even like Kevin Rayhill very much
hmm,
i have looked at their stocks before and even talked to kevin last year, sounded like a good guy. ill look again
Have had 2 Duramaxx's so far and both have been great. Get the Spiderwebbed versions, seems like the finish is better on those.
the finish is better than what boots?
The latest one I got was a Freedom Green Color pattern (now discontinued) and it just seemed like the surface texture was rougher and the mold lines were more prominent than the one I had before (and others that I have handled) that was the Black with Grey Spiderweb pattern. I think that all of the Duramaxx's now all have a spiderweb finish except the all Black model.
i was thinking i would get the black model so that i could do what ever i need to do to it like add the cheek piece and then paint it all the way i want it.
If you are going to paint it, then the black one is a good plan. A light sanding and then new paint will make it look great.
thanks, i hope it turns out as good as i can picture in my mind
boots, looks like im getting that freedom green duramaxx stock.
That is the exact copy to the one I have now. It's a good stock, but the mold lines show and the texture is just.......chalky I guess is the word. I think I am going to put some spider webbing on mine and maybe a couple coats of a Matte or Satin Clear-coat and be good to go. Don't get me wrong I like it, I just want to improve it a tad.
Good luck and enjoy.
