I am converting a Stevens 200 .270 into a 300 win mag. I purchased the mag. bolt head and all other parts needed. Here is the question, do I need to adjust the firing pin protrusion after I install the mag. bolt head?

You need to CHECK, and ADJUST if necessary.
PM me if you need instructions.

I just did the same bolt head swap on a Stevens, I didn't have to adjust mine but it was close to max length.

i think that when savage sends out a factory rifle it is a good thing to just go ahead and check the protrusion and adjust since it is such an easy process, just to make sure.
