aftermarket trigger in a newer bottom bolt release action?
Has anyone put an aftermarket trigger onto one of the newer bottom bolt release actions?
I am pretty sure that a Sav-1 or a Timney will fit.
BUT
I just tried a Sav-2 AND a SSS and couldnt get them to work.
-The Sav-2 seemed to fit fine with the trigger guard button, but the release arm on the sear hits the thicker Sav-2 trigger bracket and will not work without alot of grinding to the one side of the bracket for clearance. For me it wasnt worth it.
- The SSS was fine as far as the bolt release arm on the sear goes, but the action wouldnt drop back into the stock because the trigger housing sits too low into the trigger guard and hits the bolt release mechanism on the guard. I didnt really see any way to make it work.
Basically i am just wondering if anyone has gotten either of these two triggers to work with these actions, and if so how? If anyone has used a Timney or a Sav-1 with good results on them i would like to know that as well before i purchase another trigger that wont work.....

I'd try to contact Rifle Basix and SSS directly and see if they have solved these problems.

SSS can install the conp trigger in these guns.
You will have to call them for details.

I do not wanna bother Fred during his open business hours when that phone call could be better used by somebody ordering parts.
Its not really a huge deal for me but I thought Id throw it out there incase anyone has made this swap successfully.
Maybe Fred will chime in on here later.
Re: aftermarket trigger in a newer bottom bolt release action?
The easiest way I have found is to replace the trigger guard with a standard, and modify the bolt release with a small tab welded on almost like the old style. I don't have any pics handy, but I get one up when I do one next.
I don't know of anybody that is fond of the new trigger guard bolt release.

Thanks Fred. I kinda figured there was no simple way to do it.

Instead of welding a tab on the sear, can i use the older style sear and modify it to go around the action or mill a flat spot on the action?

Nope, the sears are super hard, and if you try to bend them they will shatter.
