Stevens model 311, 30 inch

Hello! I have a 311 that I want to restore. It was my dads gun, and my son loves it so I want to re blue and put new stocks on it to make it nice for a long time. Does anyone know how to track the year? No S/N so I know it's pre 1968. It is stamped circle A, circle H, P, and C5. Says STEVENS MODEL 311, SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION, CHICOPEE Falls, MASS, USA. The other side has a small 5100 on it.
Any recommendations on bluing? I don't know if the solder can take hot bluing. Or if the receiver will blue or needs some other treatment. Thanks!
